The main characteristics of the Scania gear boxes are:

Applications

Both applications of gearboxes are exclusive from Scania, that is why the mentioned models (GR 7XX, GR 8XX, GRS 9XX) are not assembled in any other Manufacturer.  As vehicles distinguished from the brand have the application for urban and inter-city bus and the application for truck for transportation of goods.

Maintenance

Every gear system needs maintenance and a perfect lubrication; this is the key to keep the internal components well preserved. In this case in particular, we have, apart from all the internal gear system, a set of electronic elements that allow the system to be automatizeto be gearbox (the interval will depend on the type of oil used)

• Avoid dampness in the whole electric system and electric installation.
• Pay attention to the compressor and the vehicle´s dryer. If the dryer brakes
• Check oil and possible leaks from time to time to avoid break down of the gear box because the lack of oil.
