ZF ECOLIFE it´s a manual mechanic gearbox designed for vehicles whith small load capacity, like for example light vehicles like small lorries or vans, or microbuses…although it can also be used for small garbage collectors trucks…etc. the main manufacturers assembled in vehicles like: IVECO, DAIMLER AG, VOLVO, NEOBUS, VDL, MAN…

Maintenance

Every gear system needs a proper maintenance and lubrication, it will help the internal components lo last longer. The ZF ECOLITE gearbox, as well as other “pinion” gearboxes, must revise and care for its bearings, making sure they are properly lubricated, and also its pinions (which suffer pressure one into the other) and its synchronizers´ s heat must be dissipated in a proper way. We can find the following measures to keep it in the best way possible:

• Oil and filter changes in the gearbox (the interval will depend of the type of oil used, see list for authorized oil in the section “Documentation”
• Pay attention to posible leakages.
• Pay attention to a possible noises
• Watch the clutch, the key to obtain soft gear changes and assure the synchronizers a proper like.
